Ed comes to Breakthrough Partners after 30 years of military
service in the Air Force.  As a Logistics Officer, he spent his last 10 years working with Joint Forces leading efforts to help the military services improve and transform the way they deploy, employ and sustain forces.  In various roles he connected, catalyzed and coached partnership initiatives  influencing US military support in Europe, Africa, Latin America, North America, and Asia. 

A gifted teacher, Ed and has been continuously involved in various aspects of church leadership for over 35 years. His passion is to improve people and processes to be all that they can be to the glory of God. Retiring in October 2010, Ed joined Breakthrough Partners in February 2011. His role is to think strategically about how and where the Lord would have us engage with Kingdom work and to apply his own gifts and experiences to help connect, catalyze and coach our network of partnership practitioners. He also develops training tools and educational curricula to explain the "how tos" of building local leaders to rebuild sustainable communities.

Ed has a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary and Bachelor of Theology from Multnomah School of the Bible (now Multnomah University) both are in Portland, OR. He
is currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership through Regent University. He married Joy Vinyard in 1975; they have 3 grown daughters and are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren. After moving 17 times in 35 years, they have put down roots in Newberg, OR.
